Lundgren's Incivility

Councilman Mary Jane Lundgren made some choice comments during last night's Town Council Meeting. "Some of the comments from the Council have been a huge embarassment," she said, "Some of the nastiest comments I have ever [sic] seen." I guess she's including her own ugly snap at Councilman Pete Bass who made a thoughtful observation that she totally misunderstood.

The classy act continued when she later called him a "fat-head." Nice display, Mary-Jane.

Does she have a back bone? I dont get her.. She makes strange comments and seems to want to put a bandage on the LARGE problems in New Milford. Take a stand for gods sake stop playing both sides. Please give her some cheese for her whining.

What, are we in high school or something?

What an idiot, saying something immature like that when she knows it will be part of the public record.

Who the hell voted for this woman?

Jay said...

...she made the comment moments after the meeting was adjourned.

She gets alot of votes because she puts on a good show most of the time but she is a nasty vicious person, ask anyone who has been on the receiving end of it.
She likes to get her way and that usually means tax and spend.

That is the funniest thing I have heard coming out of a town council meeting. I think the pressure is to much for her.
Maybe basic math should be a requirement to be on the Town council. Where does she think the money is going to come from? Are she and her rich friends going to pay the difference.
HOW DO YOU PLAN ON PAYING FOR IT MARY JANE???????
We went from 79 mil plus in 2005 2006 to over 91 mil plus this coming year.
ONCE AGAIN WHO'S PAYING FOR IT WITH A NEGATIVE REVENUE STREAM???

Me not Dum Dum, you Dum Dum!

What else would you expect from her? She's nasty, rude and condescending. Any time I spoke to Town Council, she'd sit there and roll her eyes. I never said anything about it, because she's so beneath me that it really didn't matter....

She seems to be an authority on low intellect though…

Its obvious Mary Jane is postmenopausal and prone to bizarre outbursts and other erratic, behavior. She should seek medical help.

"Postmenopausal", eh? Now that's a way to gain the favor of the ladies.

Why are people allowed to make sexist comments freely but racist comments are not tolerated?

Anonymous said...

It's not a sexist comment, mearly an observation. And besides, me not Dum Dum, you Dum Dum.

As incredible as it may seem, Mr. Bass is infinitely more clueless than Ms. Lundgren is. She just called it like she saw it.

Michel Gutman - not an anonymous wimp said...

To call Pete Bass clueless is unfair, untrue and unwarranted.....

Anonymous said...

It may be unfair and unwarranted, but it's not untrue...

You can't blame these esteemed members of the Town Council for not using what the good Lord didn't give them.

To call Pete Bass Clueless is fair
and true. Maybe he shouldn't go to meetings and all over town talking about the budget numbers that someone else (GMcL) gives him
without the ability to back them up.
He had no budget knowledge on his own and never will.

In a battle of wits with Ms. Lundgren, Mr. Bass would be totally outgunned - and she's only armed with a popgun!

Pete Bass has a strong financial background, is very well read and financially informed. He is respectful at every meeting I have seen him attend. And he can respectfully disagree without name calling and political backstabbing. He doesn't get his financial information from G MCl he works the numbers himself. His knowledge of the numbers and the system intimidates people. To bad for the Tax and spend crowd.

You have know idea what you are talking about. Get your butt out of your chair and start doing the work yourself.

Tom said...

Spelling correction

You have NO Idea what your talking about.

I bet you don't have the guts to say it to his face. Come on big shot let's see what kind of results you would get if you put in as much time. Maybe you are one of those Tax and Spend idiots.

To Anonymous March 13th 1:23pm:
To make slanderous and misguided
accusations under "anonymous" insignia on Jay's website is nothing more than a political operative( I KNOW WHO YOU ARE) who would rather make fun of, humilate, demean, both Republicans, and Democrats alike.
This "anonymous" reason: to keep you, the shareholder (taxpayer) from questioning the real issues
facing our Town. Instead of a positive dialouge that has differing views and action points,
this blogger choses to insight name
calling and mud sligging.
With the issues facing New Milford
this year and in the future, we need to come up with solutions, not
name calling and unproductive behavior.
As for this years budget, all Due
Diligence for making my decision
was done by me. New Milford citizens expect nothing less.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have reguarding the budget and my vote.

That sounds really, really great, but you took almost 150 words to publicize a few trite generalities of no substance. What are your solutions to “the issues facing New Milford” besides throwing more tax dollars at the town's financial problems (e.g. the unaccountable BoE)? You did vote to give them a lot more money than last year, didn’t you? What justification do you have for giving the BoE even more tax dollars to waste next year? Is that your “Duly Diligent” solution to the BoE's fraud, waste and abuse?

Anonymous said...

yes Pete, In your words, what are your solutions for NM?

j b keene said...

let's get back on topic here

Anonymous said...

Politicians like Mr. Bass and Ms. Lundgren ARE the problem, not the solution to them...

Anonymous said...

I thought it was all George Bush's fault.

Anonymous said...

President Bush was born in Soviet Socialist Republic of Connecticut and that’s probably why he enjoys squandering tax dollars with reckless abandon. Unfortunately, our state and local RINOs are following his lead. Maybe the president is at least PARTIALLY to blame for the Republican Party’s record of poor fiscal leadership at all levels of government... He certainly isn't helping!

If this Maryjane is supposed to be some sort of nurse as her profession , then i highly believe she needs to find a Dr. to write her an RX.For A Large Dose of Class & an Extra Dose of Respect!!!

Michel Gutman said...

Her problem is that she doesn't know how to respectfully disagree with someone....She makes obnoxious comments, and rolls her eyes....A typical display of ignorance and arrogance....

I'm not sure who's more annyoning, her or the corpse sitting next to her.....

Wow - Mr. Gutman sure likes to shoot flames in this forum! You're quite the example of a public servant. Maybe we should post your comments for the High School's civics course.

You're a great example of leadership in this town! Your family must be so proud...

The truth hurts, doesn't it?

Are you going to tell the voters that you're leaving town soon?

Michel Gutman said...

I'll leave that up to you....

I am a resident of New Milford, until I'm not anymore. I'm a member of the Board of Finance until I'm not anymore.

Do you have a point?

Pete,
I can say that I have not always agreed with everything you have stood for but I really have to congratulate you on your statement. I have read and re-read the last two articles posted and the associated remarks with them and have to wonder what has happened to the adults in this community. If all the energy was put into constructive views instead of personal attacks I really believe this site would then serve the community in a positive manner.

There are politicians that I don't agree with but to degrade and name call serves no purpose. It's ideas we need. Thank you Pete...
